DREF will award scholarships and internships to student applicants entering college or continuing their academic programs. Students must meet both academic and community service requirements.
All applications open November 2022 and close March 31, 2023.
Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Internship (STJ)
The STJ Summer Internship is awarded to an undergraduate student currently enrolled in a college or university with a demonstrated interest in public service, governance, and policy-making process. Students will gain experience in the office of a member of the United States Congress, receive a stipend and be provided room and board at a local university.
Eula Dean Roby Scholarship
The Eula Dean Roby Scholarship is awarded to high school graduating seniors or students currently enrolled in a college or university. All applicants for the Roby Scholarship MUST major in education.
Oleta L. Crain Scholarship
The Oleta L. Crain Scholarship is awarded to female students graduating from high school and will enroll at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Applicants must reside in one of the following states: Colorado, Oklahoma, or Missouri.
Mentoring Keys Scholarship
The Mentoring Keys Scholarship is a new educational opportunity generously funded by the KeyBank Foundation. The scholarship award is open to African American students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business related disciplines at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The scholarship award of $5,000 will be made over a two-year period, beginning with the junior year of study through the senior year; applicants must apply during their sophomore year.
